MISSION FIELD 2-14-17

I am in BELLINGHAM WASHINGTON! It has rained everyday of course but, what are umbrellas??? No one uses them here so I am not about to be the black sheep, I have to fit in and just deal with getting wet.

My trainers name is Sister Dietz, she is from Lehi, UT and is awesome!
LUCKY ME- I already had a baptism. I can't take much credit but I did help with the last couple of lessons! Her name is Debra Land and she is HILARIOUS!

The mission field is so much different than the MTC I will tell you that. I have learned more this past month than I have my whole life and I have grown so much and I feel so blessed and so grateful.
Unfortunately, my physical and mental health have not been very well.. my anxiety has kicked in and is effecting my health and energy. It hasn't been very fun to deal with BUT I have faith that whatever is supposed to happen will happen and I am so grateful that I have a Heavenly Father that is always by my side.

The people here are colorful, different, but i LOVE them. While tracting, we met a lady named Vanessa who has been through more than I could ever imagine but she is so prepared for this gospel and I am so grateful she was put in our path.

Funny story, so I thought the deer at the MTC was bad.... we pulled up to a ladies house and there were SEVEN deer in her front yard!!!!!  just chillin'. You better believe I didn't get out of the car. Also, I almost get hit by a car everyday trying to back my companion.. grateful for PULL THROUGH parking!!

I am so grateful for missionary work! Whether it is full-time, part- time or even member missionary work (which is most important) Being a missionary not only helps others come closer to Christ but it helps us come closer as well! I invite you all to think about how you can serve someone this week and share your testimony with them!

Blessings come as we put our faith in Him.

LOVE YOU ALL! Have a great week!

FULL OF SURPRISES - Week 2

This week has been FULL of surprises, let me tell you!

First off, you think the MTC is a safe place because you know.. the gate and all... BUT! We were walking to the cafeteria and A DEER jumped out of a bush and ran right into us!!!! OUT OF NO WHERE!
Another thing.. we were doing a district bonding and this elder in my district who NEVER talks was like, "so ya, I have something no one knows about me.. I'm engaged." We all flipped it was the biggest plot twist of all.
The next day our teacher told us he was in High School Musical 3 and Dadnaped, like what??? SURPRISE!
Also, my whole district has been sick and I finally caught it, surprise!!
LASTLY!! Gavin Joy is in my zone so we learn together and hang out everyday it is so fun! As well as Sister Hicks from Layton who I knew before, which is fun!

I have learned so much this week. In Jacob 3:2 it reads,
"O all ye that are pure in heart, lift up your heads and receive the pleasing word of God, and feast upon his love; for ye may, if your minds are firm, forever.
The word "Feast" stuck out to me. How often are we rushing our lives, stressing over little things we really can't control? We need to slow down! Remember WHY we are here. In your trials, challenges, and even your victories LIFT UP YOUR HEADS! Learn of Jesus Christ and his life and his charectoristics. Become like him. Put off the real world & the natural man. Read Mosiah 3:19 <3

In class yesterday, our teacher made us do a role play with our companion. We had to think of someone we loved and looked up to, that wasn't a parent, who was strong in the gospel. I chose my brother Josh. He was the first to come to my head, I have always looked up to him and his strength. Now she had us pretend that person we thought of fell away from the church.. Let me tell you. That was THE hardest thing. Everyone in my class was in tears. I couldn't imagine what I would say if that were to really happen,  but it put in perspective how our father in heaven feels when his children fall away. The gospel is SO important. It is the reason we are here. I invite you this week to focus on becoming! We can all become as we pray and put our faith in our Heavenly Father, he is so aware of us.

The MTC is amazing! You probably won't hear from me next week because I will be on a plane to WASHINGTON!!!!

So grateful for all of the love and support! I pray for you.

Have an amazing week!!

PS : THE SUN CAME OUT THIS WEEK!!! I WAS SO HAPPY!

GOD IS GOOD!- Week 1

Hello everyone! I'm alive and well!

So my biggest fear about the MTC was getting fat from all this food they feed me... but no worries God is good and made my classroom on the top floor so I walk up 5 floors everyday multiple times so I'm set!

What a week! My companion is AMAZING her name is Sister Nordstrom, she is from Spanish Fork! Our district has 5 going to Everett Washington and 7 going to Calgary Canada! I know that God put me with these people for a reason because they are my family, and they have taught me so much!

The MTC is crazy! The days feel like weeks but each day I learn so much and grow so much it's so fun. We wake up at 6 am to get ready, go to breakfast and then the day starts and it's learning and teaching until 9:30 at night! Very long days but I love it!

We taught our first investigator last night, her name is Ny and she is from Madagascar. Sister Nordstrom and I planned a lesson for her but when we got there, the spirit told us we needed to teach something else and it went so well!

Although this is a hard journey, I know this mission is not about me. The more I turn myself outwards and forget about myself the more I love it so much!

I can read emails everyday and letters, but can only respond tuesday to the emails! I would love to write you! My info is below!

Love you all and so grateful for your support!!

PS: DID YOU HEAR WE GET AN EXTRA HOUR OF SLEEP IN THE MISSION FIELD???
